The Chair of the Armenian Language and Literature has been pursuing a knowledge-based, student-
centered, and high-quality educational policy since its establishment. It is distinguished by the
diversity of subjects taught: the chair's lecturers not only teach "Armenian Language and
Literature" in various faculties but also other related subjects, such as "Armenian Language and
Terminology," "Speech Culture," "Armenian Language and Teaching Methodology," "Theory
of Literary Studies," "Children's Literature and Teaching Methodology," and more.
The lecturers of the chair demonstrate the attitude and responsible behavior typical of dedicated
educators. Our lecturers are:
Naira Balayan (PhD, Associate Professor, Head of Department)
Angela Khorenyan (PhD, Associate Professor)
Lousine Muradyan (PhD, Associate Professor)
Tsoghik Poghosyan
Angela Saroyan
The chair’s staff has been actively engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities for years. The
lecturers lead coursework, research Armenian language and literature teaching methodology, and
have authored numerous articles, several monographs, and educational manuals. Particularly
noteworthy is L. Muradyan’s textbook on teaching foreign students at the medical institute.
The role of the Chair of Armenian Language and Literature in intra-university training of teacher-
specialists in national education, literary and artistic thinking—especially for elementary grades—is
quite significant. Armenian language instruction is also provided at an appropriate level for foreign
students in the medical faculty, where notable success has been achieved. Additionally, the chair
encourages academically successful students to participate in scientific conferences organized by the
university.
The chair plays an active role in organizing educational and cognitive events at the university. It
collaborates with museums, the Writers' Union of Armenia, creative organizations, and Armenian
studies centers, such as the Institute of Literature of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences
and Avetik Isahakyan’s House-Museum.
The chair has several strategic goals, the primary ones being the development of educational
programs in accordance with the updated requirements of the Quality Assurance Center of
Yerevan Haybusak University, the modernization of distance learning initiatives, and the revision
of mandatory and elective course curricula to align with labor market demands.
Since its establishment, the Psychology Department of Yerevan Haybusak
University has produced hundreds of highly qualified specialists. However, its
activities gained new momentum after June 2024, when Associate Professor Vitya
Beniki Yaramishyan, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, was appointed as the
head of the department.
The department currently boasts a young and highly qualified academic
staff:
• Vitya Yaramishyan – Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate
Professor
• Armine Azaryan – Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate
Professor
• Haykuhi Harutyunyan – Lecturer, PhD Candidate in Psychology
• Kristine Petrosyan – Lecturer, PhD Candidate in Psychology
• Hasmik Palanduzyan – Lecturer
• Naira Melikyan – Lecturer
• Anahit Haykazuni – Lecturer
• Edgar Gyanjumyan – Lecturer
The department offers two-tier academic programs, preparing specialists
with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology. In the summer of 2024, the
bachelor’s program was modernized as a result of benchmarking with Lithuania’s
Mykolas Romeris University, aligning it with contemporary standards. Work is
also underway to update the master’s program and establish international
collaborations.
The department’s primary mid-term objective is to effectively fulfill the
responsibilities outlined in Yerevan Haybusak University’s Strategic Development
Plan, Mission, and Vision. This includes training highly qualified specialists
equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to succeed in the
modern labor market, while adhering to the highest human, moral, and professional
values.
Although the number of students remains modest, with the department
graduating only about ten specialists annually, both the faculty and students are
committed to ensuring high-quality education and steadily increasing enrollment.
A larger student body would enable the department to offer more specialized
master’s programs tailored to the demands of the current job market.
Additionally, the department places importance on providing psychological
support to the students, pupils, and staff of Yerevan Haybusak University, its
college, and high school. It also assumes public responsibility by offering
psychological services to the local community. Furthermore, the department
actively conducts joint scientific research involving both faculty and students,
ensuring the practical application of research outcomes.

colour range. During the course, students learn the basic principles of colour theory, colour
combinations and graphic design. The course covers the communication in the language of
colour, techniques for creating image compositions, as well as the use of digital graphics
programs for the implementation colour combinations. Students get acquainted with the
psychological effect of colour, learn to use it correctly in graphic works.
"Computer Design" The subject refers to the implementation of design and other creative
works using computer programs. The course focuses on studying different design programs used
for graphics, 3D modeling, design and animation. Students learn the basics of graphic design,
combining creative ideas and technical skills. During the course the students learn to work with
such programs as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Autodesk AutoCAD, Blender and
other multimedia programs. The course includes techniques for both 2D and 3D design, creation
of visual effects and point graphics.
"Clothing Technology" The subject studies all the stages of clothing production, from the
designing to production of the finished product. During the course, students get acquainted with
the technical processes of clothing production, the methods of organizing maximum efficient and
accurate production, as well as its quality and cost-effectiveness capabilities.
"Ergonomics" is a science which studies the working behavior of a person or a group of people
in production, aiming at optimizing the tools used and the entire work process. The object of
study of ergonomics is the whole system /man-machine-environment/ where the relationship
between a man and the material world is studied in the process of work. Ergonomics as a
complex science was formed at the junction of such technical sciences as psychology,
physiology, hygiene, anatomy, biomechanics, anthropometry and biophysics.
"Perspective" The course examines the methods of conceptualizing and accurately describing
flat and three-dimensional geometric shapes. Perspective studies the form in a space, the laws of
shadow reflection and surface shaping and the issues related to the field of designer creativity.
"Drawing" The subject is taught as a means of technical and artistic development. It covers the
basics of technical drawing applied to design, architecture and other spheres. The students learn
drawing skills, develop graphic, spatial and abstract thinking. They learn to read and create
drawings, axonometry and projection constructions.
’Design project’ During the course the students master the principles of interior design and the
practical skills which are necessary for the development of real projects. It teaches the basic
principles, tools and techniques of design with the aim of providing the students with practical
methods to implement design projects. The subject aims at creating in students a deeper
understanding and skills in various aspects of design, from visual to practical. The main
principles of design are composition, color, functionality, comfort. The students learn to
implement projects in accordance with business and marketing requirements, do practical work-
team projects, educational tasks. Video lessons, group discussions and lectures are applied during
the classes.
"Bionics" is a brunch of Cybernetics which creates technical devices and systems based on the
study of the functions of organisms and systems in living nature in order to solve various
engineering problems. This process involves teamwork where the students can create and present
design projects using the biological models. The studies of the structural features of living
organisms give rise to new ideas for the creation of technical constructions.
"Working with material" Practically working with different materials gives an opportunity to
show the designer's idea in a model most expressively. Properly selected material gives an
opportunity to fully demonstrate the nature and structure of the object, to show the plasticity and
symmetry of the object, to express all this more accurately in color.
