Yerevan Haybusak University hosted Mr. Yannis Saveriades, Director of Casa College Nicosia, Cyprus, on June 3

During the visit, a meeting was held with the university leadership to discuss prospects for developing cooperation in higher education, expanding international academic ties, and implementing joint programs.

Mr. Saveriades presented the history and development of the college, noting that his father had founded a school in Cyprus in 1961. However, following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, the family lost both their home and the school and relocated to the southern part of Nicosia, where they continued their educational activities. In 1997, Casa College Nicosia was established.

According to Mr. Saveriades, the college is now specialized in hospitality and tourism education, combining academic studies with practical experience. Students work in hotels and restaurants while pursuing their studies and often secure employment opportunities in Cyprus upon graduation.

The meeting also addressed issues related to education aligned with European standards, international accreditation, student mobility, the preparation of professionals in demand in the labor market, as well as potential areas of cooperation between the two educational institutions.
